The Day that I Came Home

I don't know where I was born and I don't remember who my mother and father were. My earliest memory is that I was taken to the

Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo, CA. I had or have several brothers and sisters. I don't know where they live now.

I'm not sure how long I stayed at the humane society, but if I didn't get adopted, I would most likely not have lived a long and happy life. I guess you can say I was lucky. How many animals are put down every year? I do not know, but it is very sad. It breaks my heart to see people "buy" a cat from a breeder, when so many great pets are looking for homes at the humane society. Perhaps, I'm just a "domestic shorthair", but I have personality and have loved my owners more than they know.
My owner often cites this Buddhist prayer that he learned when he was a child:

We are link in Amida Buddha's golden chain of love that stretches around the world, we will keep our link bright and strong. We will be kind and gentle to every living thing and protect all who are weaker than ourselves. We will think pure and beautiful deeds May every link in Amida Buddha's golden chain of love be bright and strong, and may we all attain perfect peace.
Welcome to my life and my story.

My Name is Rudy

This blog is for my cat Rudy. I've had Rudy for 16+ years and he's getting older and thinner. I've been through a lot with him and hope that he lives many years longer. However he has a hyperactive thyroid and he is losing a lot of weight. In my heart, I know that he will not live much longer. I guest what I'm trying to say is that this is a tribute to him.
